Heaven gained an angel today. Edmond Joseph Doucet passed away at his home in Port Hudson on October 19, 2011. He was 86 years young and a retired delivery driver for Barqs and 7Up Bottling Co. He was a proud US Navy veteran of WWII, and a native of Washington, LA. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Monday, October 24, 2011 from 59pm, and Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Joe Thibeau. Interment with military honors to follow in Port Hudson National Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Alva a son, John Tubby Doucet six daughters, Lou Alice Boyd and husband, Teddy, Mona Baker and husband, Mike, Nona Doucet, Cyndi Doucet, Lisa Putnam and husband, Alan, and Cathy Doucet stepson, Don Arceneaux and wife, Judy numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and greatgreat grandchildren and the mother of his children, Sarah Doucet Duplechain. Preceded in death by his former wife, Vera Doucet a granddaughter, Tora Boyd two brothers, one sister, and his parents. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Doucet, Seger Doucet, Brian Trimble, Derrick Dupre, Cary KK McKee, and Alan Putnam. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Baker, Mike Sistrunk, Carl Endert, Jonathan Bonadona, and Teddy Boyd. Special thanks to the caregivers of Hospice in His Care, especially Kathleen and his neighbors, Sharlene, Cheryl, Dot, and Freddie. Within his last days, he was gracefully cared for by his daughter, Cyndi, and his grandson, Seger Doucet and fiancee, Tina Daigle. Edmond enjoyed gardening, birds, and John Deere. We love you Daddy Well see you in Heaven.
