Edith Dixon

Edith Maria Dixon, 92 years old, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 26, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on September 18, 1929, born to Elsbeth and Wilhelm Heiss, in Darmstadt, Hessen. She was a member of Plains Presbyterian Church.

Edith is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Fred Richard Dixon;, two daughters, Linda Susan Tippett and Carol Jean Dixon Guarnieri (John); 3 grandchildren, Matthew W. Tippett, Kenleigh Almeida (Carlos), and Nick Tippett (Lindsay), ; 4 great-grandchildren, Charleigh, Camille, Winrie, and Wesley.

Edith is preceded in death by her father, Wilhelm Heiss; mother, Elsbeth Heiss; and her brother, Hellmutt Heiss.

Serving as pallbearers will be Nick Tippett, Matt Tippett, John Guarnieri, Ben Toler, Will Lampton and Carlos Almeida.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Plains Presbyterian Church, 22929 Old Scenic Hwy, on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Campbell Silman. The graveside service and burial will follow at Plains Presbyterian Memorial Gardens, in Zachary, Louisiana.
