A resident of Baker and a native of Baton Rouge, she passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 9:48pm at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She was 76, and retired from Our Lady of the Lake Hospital Association. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 59pm, and on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 8am until religious services in the chapel at 10am, conducted by Rev. Linda Hagan. Survived by son and daughterinlaw, Steve and Teresa Sims of Baker sister, Emma Hoover of New Iberia two brothers and sistersinlaw, Bill and Jannie Miller of Prairieville, and Lee and Heather Carroll of Ft. Worth, Texas four grandchildren, Lacey, Sarah, Rebecca, and Dawn Sims and three greatgrandchildren, Torin Horton, and Brianna and Alayna Sims. Preceded in death by two sons, Michael and David Sims brotherinlaw, Donald Leroy Hoover parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl William Miller and her mother, Fannie Mae Russell. Pallbearers are Gary Fox, Scott Hoover, Rodney James, Bill Miller, Micheal Huntley, and Corey Henderson. Earline was a member of Blackwater United Methodist Church. She was a 1953 graduate of Eastland High School in Eastland, Texas. She was an avid reader, and attended the Baker Book Club.
