Earlie Guttirrez

Earlie Guttirrez, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1934, in Waterproof, Louisiana, to the late Sarah and Albert Burkhalter.

Earlie was the beloved wife of the late Riley Guttirrez and the devoted mother of Larry Guttirrez (Carla), the late Joey Guttirrez (Rita), and Tammie Woolfolk (Martin). She is also survived by her stepson, Riley B. Guttirrez Jr. (Kathy). Earlie was a proud grandmother to Jennifer Degatur (Ben), Jamie Hyde (Kyle), Ashley Freeman (Charles), Heather Allen (Jason), Lindsay Tippett (Nick), Amy Holloway (Daniel), April Baus (Tylor), Riley Guttirrez III (Annette), and Clinton Guttirrez, as well as numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her cherished dog, Holly, who brought her comfort and companionship.

Earlie had a love for gardening and spending time in nature, especially tending to her roses, which always brought her joy. A woman of great faith, Earlie loved to sing hymns, which were a constant source of peace and comfort in her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff of Compassus Hospice and Oakwood Village Assisted Living for their compassionate care and support during Earlie's final days. Your kindness and dedication meant the world to her and to our family.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Ben Degatur, Kyle Hyde, Charles Freeman, Nick Tippett, and Daniel Holloway.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, with the funeral service starting at 11:00 AM. A graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 6213 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714.
