Dorothy Hawkins

A resident of Zachary, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11pm on Friday, April 29, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was 87, and a native of Starkville, MS. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 69pm, and on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Donnie Schaffer and Rev. Dustin Hawkins. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by two daughters and sonsinlaw, Josie and Ervin King, and Gloria and Lynn Babin Sr, all of Zachary three sons and two daughtersinlaw, Douglas and Renea Hawkins of Zachary, Randy and Jan Hawkins of Central, and Ricky Hawkins of San Antonio 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and 19 greatgreat grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Walker R. Hawkins, Jr son, William Gene Hawkins daughter, Connie Daigle and her mother, Josie McCain. Pallbearers will be Brandon Walker, Jerry King, Mann Daigle, Matthew Hawkins, Adam Babin, and George Winters. Honorary pallbearers are Benny King and Michael Mccurnin.
