Dorothy Davis Cowan was the true definition of a matriarch; gently guiding not one but three generations with wisdom and a pure belief in love. To sum her life into one simple paragraph is difficult, but fits her perfectly. She served and asked for nothing in return. She leaves behind such a beautiful legacy, more than she knew in this life. Something in which, as her living proof of love, pray you understand. Today is all you have. Give, serve, and love selflessly. It will return to you.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Joseph James Cowan III and Daniel L. Cowan; daughter, Linda C. Wiginton; grandchildren, Greg Cowan, Korey Cowan, Jeremy Wiginton, Amy Wiginton Lerche, Dana Wiginton Lemoine, Tracy Cowan Brock, Daniel L. Cowan, and Heather Cowan Allen; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph James Cowan Jr.
