Dorothy Berthelot

Dorothy Picard Orillion Berthelot, age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 31, 2017. She was born on March 19, 1924 to Walter and Blanche Fabre Picard in Livonia, Louisiana. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was affectionately referred to as Maw Dot by her family. Dorothy was especially known for her excellent cooking as she cared deeply for her family. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, J.D. Berthelot, Jr.; daughter, Lynnell Orillion Jackson and husband Andy; son, Roland "Sonny" Orillion, Jr. and wife Marie H.; step-daughter, Debra Ann Kidder and husband Will; step-sons, Ricky Berthelot and wife Penny, and Joseph Berthelot, III and wife Eunice; grandchildren, Lauri Rodrigue and husband Ryan, and Scott Kennedy; step-grandchildren, Adam Berthelot and wife Amy, Ashley Berthelot, Mandy Ellerbee, Nicholas Ellerbee, Micheal Leach, Seth Berthelot, Kayce Berthelot; great-grandchildren, Tricia Rodrigue, Reese Rodrigue, Bella Kennedy, Kane Kennedy; and a step-great-grandchild, Peyton Chatellier. She is also survived by her sister, Violet Ramirez; and brother, Steve Picard.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Roland Orillion, Sr.; parents, Walter and Blanche Fabre Picard; sister, Gailyne "Nucy" Sutherland; brothers, Lester Picard, Walter "Put" Roy Picard, and John "Pete" Benny Picard.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs, Rd. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the mass of Christian burial at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Mike Moroney. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Berthelot, Adam Berthelot, Andy Jackson, Jimmy Chutz, Stan Orillion and Joe Berthelot.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Seth Berthelot and Scott Kennedy.
