Doris Lantrip

Doris May Strayer Lantrip, age 99, passed away peacefully January 20, 2022. She was born April 21, 1922, in York, PA to Raymond and Blanche Strayer. She married William Wayne Lantrip at the age of 21 and were married for 53 years when he preceded her in death in 1997.

Doris loved her husband and was a dedicated mother who traveled through several states while her husband relocated with his job working at Minnesota Pipeline, then moved to Zachary, Louisiana in 1963. She enjoyed her time sewing and being a home maker while spending her time as an Eastern Star.

Doris is survived by her children, William Wayne Lantrip, Dennis Ray Lantrip and wife, Susan; Barbara Ann Gremillion, Terry Lee Lantrip and wife, Peggy; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Doris is preceded in death by her son, Gary Layne Lantrip; grandchildren, Travis Lantrip; and a great grandchild, Coleson Seal.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
