Dick Riedel

LCDR Richard Dick Riedel USNR Ret.,

Age 78, a long time resident of Baker and native of Islep, New York. Dick went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 3, 2014 while camping in Chicot Park in Ville Platte, LA. He was a retired Navy Veteran who fought in the Vietnam War. He was very active in serving his country and his community throughout his life. Dick was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the visitation from the chapel of Baker Funeral Home on Monday, April 7, 2014, from 58pm. The visitation will continue on Tuesday at 9am until the service at 11am. Pastor Ashanti Witherspoon will officiate the service and a private interment will follow at a later date. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Tara G. Riedel of Baker 2 daughters, Traci Rainbow of Spring TX, Vicki and husband Todd Thibodeaux of Zachary 2 sons, Mark Riedel of Baker, Matthew Riedel of Baker 3 grandchildren, Simone Rainbow, Marisa Rainbow and Lane Thibodeaux stepchildren include, Darrell Rivers, Ashley Weber and husband Lee, Thomas Rivers, and John Paul Rivers. He is also survived by 6 brothers, Bruce, David, Barry, Norman, Kent and Brian and 4 sisters, Patricia Stroccia, Jill Geiger, Linda Ross and Wendy Firth. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Richard G. Riedel Sr. and wife Marian 2 sisters, Nancy Stephens and Diane LaBarbra and brother Jerry Riedel.
