Diane Butler Luzena, 73, resident of Baker, passed away at The Guardian House in Lake Charles, LA, on January 10, 2017. Diane was born on February 8,1943 to M.O. Butler, Sr. and Geneva G. Butler. She worked many years for Stauffer Chemical Company at both the Baton Rouge and St. Gabriel Plants. After her retirement she did income taxes and was owner of Affordable Tax Solutions, in Slaughter, LA. Diane will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Verl Edward Luzena; son, Layne Smith (Coco), of Baker, LA; daughter, Donna Teer (John), of Lake Charles, LA; step-son, John Luzena of NC; step daughter, Diane Minzey of Ca.; four grandchildren, Dr. Shannon Smith Sanders (Trevor), Nathan Smith, Monica Benavidez Van Norman (John) and Michael Benavidez; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Mackenzie and Rylee Benavidez and the anticipated birth of Shannon's baby in June 2017; brother, M.O. "Buddy" Butler, Jr. (Dianne); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents M.O. Butler, Sr. and Geneva G. Butler.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. The burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring staff at The Guardian House, Lake Charles and the nursing staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
