Delia Landry Abshire
A loving mother and grandmother, and a resident of Baker, Delia passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 75 and a native of Crowley. She worked alongside her husband for 20 years when they ran Dalton's Heating and Air.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, September 22, from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 1:00pm, conducted by Rev. Ricky Sinclair. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. Pallbearers are Michael Wynn LeLeu, Ernest Paul LeLeu, Duston Joseph Abshire, Ryan Joseph Lowe, Dane Paul LeLeu, Jamie Lynn Napier, and Chuck Wiel.
Delia is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathleen and Ronnie Peters, and Roxanne A. Ivy; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Oscar Isaac and Merry Lou Abshire, Dalton J. Abshire, Jr. and fiancée, Frances Piccioni, and Troy A. Abshire and fiancée, Lacie Mayfield; a sister, Clarice H. LeLeu; a brother, Ray Allen Landry; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton J. Abshire, Sr., and brother-in-law, Edward LeLeu.
Delia was of the Catholic faith, and was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed embroidery and watching movies. She will be deeply missed.
