Deborah Chamberlian Evans, “Mamou” was born on December 12, 1952 and gained her angel wings on January 3, 2021. Debby enjoyed traveling with friends and family and loved reading a good book. She was known for her sense of humor and sassy retorts. Her greatest accomplishment was being Mamou to not only her grandchildren, but all of her “adopted” grandchildren.
Deborah is survived by her daughters, Shawn Evans, and Dusty Evans Dick and beloved son-in-law, Joseph Dick; grandchildren, Aubrey, Autumn, Taylor, Laney, and Arron; great granddaughters, Crissy and Makayla (Macaroon); sister, Sheryl Oubre, and husband, Mike; brother, Steve Chamberlain, and wife, Terry; and her best friends, Shirly Girior Taylor (Butch) and Mary Bass.
Deborah is proceeded in death by her husband and love of her life, James Dennis Evans (Daddy Jim); best friend, Mikal Bass; and her parents, Grady and Dorothy Chamberlain.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors and staff at OLOL for taking extraordinary care of Mamou.
Pallbearers will be Jason Johnson, Josh Crawford, Cobie McGhee, Dustin McGhee, Zach Crawford, and Butch Taylor.
Relatives and Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Louisiana on Friday, 1/8/2021, from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM conducted by Reverend Ray Abbott. The graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker.
