David Cornes

David Milton Cornes, 71, a resident of Pine Grove, LA, beloved father and grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 1, 2024. He entered this world on July 19, 1952, in El Dorado, Arkansas. He enjoyed the arts as he worked with wood, wood burning and fishing.

David is survived by his daughter, Erin Cornes Garrett (Ryan Hendl); 2 sons, Christopher Allen Cornes and wife Leslie and Matthew David Cornes and wife Loree; grandchildren, Kristen Cornes McCassey (Gabriel), Nicholas Cornes (Leigha), David Cornes, Elyzabeth Michelle Garrett, Kaylee Aleece Garrett, Garrett Thomas Cornes and Gavin David Cornes; sister, Barbara Baker (Christopher); and a host of nieces and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shauna Kay Caudill Cornes; father, Edgar Milton Cornes; mother, Catherine Sanders Cornes; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Paige Cornes.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, LA, on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Brother Danny Allen. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
