Darrell Eugene Moore
A pipefitter welder for Local 198, and a native of Baker, he passed away of a massive heart attack on Friday, October 15, 2010 in Gilbertsville, Kentucky, where he was working for The Shaw Group. He was 53 and a resident of Ventress. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Tuesday, October 19, 2010 from 58pm. Graveside services will be private on Wednesday. He is survived by his parents, Alton B. Sylvia Sumrall Moore of Baker a sister and brotherinlaw, Jeanne Bob Morris of Central two brothers and sistersinlaw, Michael Donna Moore of Barataria, and Terry Lorraine Moore of Central a very special uncle, Danny Sumrall wife Carol of Lakeside, Arizona and nieces and nephews, Chad, Melissa Mike Moore Jr, Randy Morris, and Travis Amanda Moore. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, W.A. Daisy Bourdier Sumrall, Emma Moore Dencaussee Roy Moore and an uncle, Fred Moore. Darrell loved the great outdoors and all sports. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling, and was a huge LSU fan. He was a 1975 graduate of Baker High School, where he played baseball. He still holds the record for the most bases stolen. He was a former girls softball coach, and a member of Baker Presbyterian Church.
