A resident of Jefferson City, Tennessee and a native of New Orleans, she passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was 62, a longtime Baker resident, and an advocate for the MS Foundation for many years. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2pm, conducted by Rev. Dennis Terry. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Stewart Elbon a son, Daniel Joseph Russell four grandchildren, Sara Marie Elbon, Jessica Elbon Hall, Erica Elbon Huerta, and Angela Renee Elbon three great grandchildren, Mckenzie Ryleigh Hall, Khloe Elizabeth Hall, and Aidyn James Huerta brothers and sisters, Trudy Lawson, Wayne Rushing, Gladys Rushing, Jonathon Rushing, Jameson Rushing, Susan Curry, Wesley Upshaw, Daryl Rushing, and Sharyl Rushing 21 nieces and nephews, and 16 great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Rose LeBlanc Upshaw and Joseph Eugene Rushing and a brother, Karl Bonhoff. Pallbearers will be Terry Plaisted, Raymond Huerta, Michael Rushing, Anthony Sansone, Cory Vance, and Dwain Bennett.
