Craig Durham, Sr.

Craig Gordon Durham Sr., of Baker, LA, passed away on September 24, 2024, at the age of 75, following a lengthy illness.

Craig was born in Lafayette, LA, to J.P. and Felicie Durham. Craig devoted his life to ministering to others through music after falling in love with singing in his college choir. Craig played several musical instruments including piano and guitar and passed this gift to his children and grandchildren. He attended seminary which laid the foundation for his life of serving God. His Christian faith was apparent in everything he did. At the time of his illness, Craig was the Minister of Music for Faith Baptist Church in Baker, LA.

Craig was an incredibly devoted man of faith but also a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was married to his wife, Eileen Chambers Durham for 52 years. His children and grandchildren were always his priority. Craig spent quality time with his grandchildren, cooking for them, sharing his love of music with them and always brought them to church on Sundays to learn more about Christ. He was always outgoing, friendly and genuinely cared for others. Craig's dog Penny was a trusted companion and sat by his side after the death of his Wife.

Craig Durham, Sr. is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bruce Durham and Gael Durham; his wife, Eileen Chambers Durham. He is survived by his children Craig G. Durham, Jr. "C.J.", Amanda M. Bertoniere (George "Bill" Bertoniere), Ann Durham Linton and his grandchildren, Christopher Linton, Jonathan Linton, Nicholas Linton, Brianna Bright, and Justin Bertoniere.

Services to celebrate the life of Craig Durham, Sr. will be held on Saturday, October 5th at Faith Baptist Church, 15880 Plank Road, Baker, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the memorial service at 11:00 AM.

Honorary pall bearers are Christopher Linton, Jonathan Linton, Nicholas Linton, Brianna Bright, Justin Bertoniere, Adam Linton and Bill Bertoniere.

The family would like to thank the physicians and staff of Our Lady of the Lake, Clarity Hospice and Baton Rouge Urology Group for assisting in his care.
