A longtime resident of Baker, and a native of Springhill, he entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 11:15am, at the age of 75. He was born on April 8, 1937 to the union of Claude Sr. and Edna Rodgers. He was a US Army Reserves veteran, and a retired machine tender with Tembec Paper Mill. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 59pm, and on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 11am until religious services in the chapel at 1pm, conducted by Rev. George Scruggs, Jr. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Claudies memory will be cherished by four sons and three daughtersinlaw, Claudy W. III and Debra Ann Rodgers, Nathaniel Lynn and Eileen Rodgers, Thomas DeWayne and Donna Rodgers, and Alan Rodgers two sisters, Martha Gonzales and Ellen Johnson a brother, Roy Rodgers and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Claudie would have appreciated donations to your local childrens ministries because of the work he did with the Galileans Childrens Ministry or to the Alzheimers Association because of their assistance in his later days.
