Christopher "Chris" J. Normand

Christopher "Chris" Joseph Normand, 82 years old, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on December 16, 1941, born to Joseph and Della Normand, in Mansura, LA. Chris proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was a long-time member of Foster Road Baptist Church. He was retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers as a communication technician. Besides his family, his greatest joys in life were fishing, the LSU Tigers, and the New Orleans Saints.

Chris is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lynda Pearce Normand; daughters, Christina Normand (Johnny Myers) and Laura Bresee (Douglas); grandchildren, Franke Durnin (Evans), Sarah Bresee, Jacob Bresee; brother, Gene Normand; sister, Mona Mathers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Chris is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Normand; mother, Della Juneau Normand; brothers, Conrad Normand, Joey Normand, and Larry Harrison; and sister, Elaine Peterman.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Mike Morris. The graveside service with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
