Charles Crittenden

Charles "Charlie" Crittenden, 82 years old, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on September 4, 1942, in Charleston, SC. Charlie was known for his exceptional gardening skills and was responsible for the beautiful rose gardens in Baker, LA for many years. He was a true man of God and a faithful member of Greenwell Springs Baptist Church.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Joanne King Crittenden; two sons, Paul Crittenden (Kacy), Nia Crittenden (Lea); seven grandchildren, Ashton, Amelia, Micah, Zea and Lily Crittenden, Acelen Bourgeois and Joshua Magee; and brother, Benny.

Charlie is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Durham Crittenden; son, Stephen Crittenden; father, John Crittenden, Sr.; mother, Rebecca Stewart Crittenden; brother, John, Jr.; sisters, Louise, Lois, and Dorothy "Dot".

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Nathan Gorman. The burial will follow on a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, LA.
