Devout Christian, devoted husband, father, granddaddy, and Gpaw, Charlie went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at his home in Zachary. He is now singing in Gods Heavenly choir with his best buddy, Lloyd Brown. He was 86, and a former longtime Baker resident. He was a native of Livonia, a retired machinist with Copolymer Rubber and Chemical, and a US Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting at First Baptist Church of Baker, 3213 Groom Road, Baker, on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 59pm, and on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 9am until religious services at 11am, conducted by Rev. Dennis Allen and Rev. Reggie Bridges. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by wife of 66 years, Edith Nell Furr Achee two daughters, Linda Achee Callender of Central, and Laura Achee Metcalfe and husband Gary of Zachary two sons, Drew and wife Catherine Achee of Magnolia, Texas, and Gary and wife Lelia Achee of Central two sisters, Ezora Achee Chauvin Landry of Rosedale, and Pearl Callender of Port Allen six grandchildren, Jaime Callender Turner and husband Davy, Lindsey Metcalfe Moore and husband Bobby, Courtney Metcalfe Varnado and husband Ryan, Troy Metcalfe and wife Kalyn, Jacob Anthony Achee, and Alayna Drew Achee, PFC, US Army two stepgrandchildren, Christy Lynn Johnson, and Natasha Johnson OBrien and 16 greatgrandchildren. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Joseph and Fedora Dugas Achee five brothers, and three sisters. Pallbearers are Troy Metcalfe, Jacob Achee, Davy Turner, Ryan Varnado, Bobby Moore, and Mac Chauvin. Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Adult 3 Sunday School Department of First Baptist Church of Baker, Baker Boyd, Richie Bullock, Larry Thomas, Mike Shields, and Jim Marsh. Charlie was a member of First Baptist Church of Baker and a devoted choir member, and was an avid gardener. Special thanks to his caregiver, Marilyn Lewis, whom Charlie loved, for her dedication and loyalty.
