Carrie Porter

A retired East Baton Rouge Parish school teacher and a resident of Baker, she passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center Mid City. She was 76 and a native of New Orleans, LA. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 1:00pm until religious services in the chapel at 2:00pm, conducted by Rev. James Snowden. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA. She is survived by three daughters, Sonya Mitchell, Patricia Sims and Paula Porter two sons, Thomas Porter Jr. and Craig Porter ten grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Wilhamenia Croft Dunford a sister, JoAnn Dunford and former husband, Thomas Porter Sr. Pallbearers will be Ingram Scott, Gerald Anthony, Gerald Wesley, Darrell Dunford, Walden Croft II, Jessie Shropshire, and honorary pallbearer, Walden Croft I.
