Brenda Jean Duck, 70 years old, beloved Sister, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 8, 2019. She entered this world on September 24, 1948, born to Hazel and Shelby Duck, in Haynesville, LA. In 1975, Brenda and Jean Mott went to Sylacauga, Alabama and did missionary work there until 1985. Brenda was a faithful member of Life Tabernacle Church. She loved working bus ministry, riding on the busses and working with the children ministry. She worked in the nursing profession for over 40 years and loved caring for her patients. She loved spending her free time fishing.
Brenda is survived by her sisters, Francis Elaine Meek and Susan Dufour and husband Clint Mark Dufour; nephew, Edward Meek and wife Denise, Caleb Meek, Edward Meek, Jr.; nieces, Kelly Meek, Marla Dufour and Mollie Dufour; and friend, Esther Mitchell.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, James "Sonny" Duck and Gordan Duck
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Louisiana on Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Tony Spell. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker, Louisiana.
