A resident of Central, he was born August 2, 1935 in Wisner, Louisiana, and passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at his home. He was 77, a US Marine Corp veteran, and a retired electronics technician. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 59pm, and on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2pm, conducted by Rev. Jason Allen. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by his wife, Pearl Karol Crowell of Central and his children, Sheila Blount of Central, Darrel Crowell and wife Debbie of Central, Sandy Tisdale and husband Butch of Walker, Greg Crowell and wife Sandy of Central, Sheri Thames of Panama City, Florida, and Allen McDowell of Walker 16 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren and a brother, Bob Crowell. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Annie Crowell, and Aretta Corkern son, David Crowell sister, Joyce Rainey and brothers, Cecil and Ernie Crowell. Billy was a very talented bass guitar player, and most recently performed with the Due South Country Band. The family would like to express their gratitude to family and friends for their support, especially his cousin and buddy, Al.
