Betty Brashear Lee
A native a resident of Baker, Betty passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. She was 78.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Friday, February 6, from 5-9pm, and on Saturday, February 7, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 10am. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tommy H. Lee; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa L. and Russell L. Lanehart, and Donna L. Tate; a son and daughter-in-law, John D. "Davey" and Rhonda Lee; seven sisters, Bessie Ann Krumholt, Myrtis Keith and her husband Norman, Madeline Bueche, Margaret Nolan and her husband Van, Charlotte Marshall and her husband Bob, Jessie Lee Drago and her husband Robert, and Faye Gaudin and her husband John; a brother, Bobby Brashear and his wife Linda; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David Lee, Lulu Lee, John Lee, Sandra Lee, Mike Lee, and Phyllis Lee; seven grandchildren, Charles D. Lee, Jr., Michelle P. Douglas and husband Anthony, Charles "Lee" Lanehart and wife Alaina, Matthew D. Lee, Sarah M. Tate, Caitlin C. Lanehart, and Molly J. Tate; three great-grandsons, Carter Douglas, Chase Douglas, and Tyson Tate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Jesse R. Brashear; mother, Eunice McCulloch Brashear; son, Charles Dale Lee; mother-in-law, Agnes Chapman Lee; father-in-law, Charles E. Lee; and two brothers-in-law, James E. Lee and Donald Ray Lee.
Betty was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, and she enjoyed playing Bingo when she was able to do so. She will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to Latasha Berry with South Louisiana Hospice for taking excellent care of Betty.
