Betty June Blanchard "EMS Betty" Kerry, 75, native of Brusly passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at her sister's home.
Retired from the Louisiana Bureau of EMS, she was employed at the Bureau for 20 years, where she was known as EMS Betty. She helped to qualify thousands of EMTs. Even after retirement, she volunteered thousands of hours in service to the citizens of the community. Earlier this year, she received the President's Service Award from the White House for her volunteer service to the community.
She leaves behind her fiance Larry Oster; sons Stephen Kerry and wife Denise, Michael Everett and wife Tonya, Eddie Kerry and wife Fonda; daughters Sharon Hinchee and Tina Ashley; sisters Lillie Mae Billiot and husband Adam, Margaret Ann Cali, Gloria LaPrairie and husband Ralph; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Remie Joseph Blanchard Jr. and Carrie Rivet Woodard; son Warren Ray Kerry; two brothers, three sisters and one grandson.
Family request visiting hours be observed on Saturday, August 26, 2015 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd, Baker, LA. A Memorial Service will be held in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00pm, following visitation.
Inurnment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
