Bettie Carroll

Bettie Jean Pope Carroll, 80 years old, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on September 27, 1941, born to Zula and James Pope, in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a light in the lives of everyone that knew her.

Bettie is survived by her daughter Karmen Brumfield Poole, husband Ben; her son Max O. Brumfield, III, wife Risha; grandchildren, Sheena Poole Henley, husband Ryan; Samantha Poole, Christian Stamper, Thomas Poole, Derek Brumfield, wife April, Abbie Brumfield Jones, husband Josiah, Mattie Brumfield Garner, husband Dylan; great-grandchildren; Jameson, Meilah, Ellie, Onaleigh and Luke; sister, Carol Pope Crowe, husband Jerry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bettie is preceded in death by her life partner, Bob Hughes; father, James Pope; mother, Zula Pope; grandchild Dustin Brumfield; infant great grandsons, Joseph Monroe and Jase Alexander Brumfield; brothers, Aaron Pope and Lonnie Pope.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Monday, January 10, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Brother Paul Taylor. The graveside service and burial will follow on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Amite Memorial Gardens, in Amite, Louisiana.
