Bertie Thomas

Bertie Olla Labove Thomas, 89 years old, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 4, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on December 5, 1931, born to Irene Nunez Labove and Elray Labove, in Lake Charles, LA. She was a member of Harding Street Baptist Church for over 30 years where she was the pastor's wife. She was currently a member of Faith Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for over 60 years, she loved teaching God's word. She worked at The Heritage Museum in Baker and volunteered at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.

Bertie is survived by her sons, Donny Thomas (Paulette) and Danny Thomas; daughter, Suzanne Lowry (Keith); grandchildren, Daniel Thomas, Sr., Brooke Chastain, and Brandy Dunn; great-grandchildren, Daniel Blake Thomas, Jr. and Christian Thomas, along with 7 other great-grandchildren; sister, Freida Hooper; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bertie is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Thomas, Sr.; father, Elray Labove; mother, Irene Labove; and 4 brothers.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Monday, June 07, 2021, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Bro. Keith Lowry and Bro. David Millner. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
