Bennie Gardner Sr.

A retired supervisor with Vulcan Chemical, he passed away Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Carpenter House at the age of 80. He was a resident of Baker, a native of Laurel, Ms and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Visiting will be 5:009:00 Monday July 29 at Baker Funeral Home. Visiting will resume on Tuesday from 9:0010:00 with a graveside service immediately following in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens conducted by Bro. Glen Miers. Mr. Gardner is survived by two sons, Bennie L. Gardner Jr. of Central and Bobby O. Gardner of Lantana, Texas. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Rachel Simmons, Laura Gardner, Amanda Rothman and William Anthony Gardner and five greatgrandchildren, Bailey and Mason Simmons, Kayden, Devin and Nevaeh Saltzman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty R. Gardner. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnathan Simmons, Brandon Ewing, Steve Smith and William Gardner.
