Anthony Sansone

Anthony Joseph Sansone, 79, was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was called home to be with the Lord on July 21, 2016. Anthony was born on July 24, 1936 in New Roads, LA. He was a Veteran of the US Navy having served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Kearsarge CV-33 between 1954-1958. He served 30 years with the Baton Rouge City Police Department and retired at the rank of Captain. He was also a longtime active member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jimmie Nell Moak Sansone; Children; Samuel and wife Linda, David and wife Stephanie, Brenda and husband Bert Berthelot, and Steve Sansone; Grandchildren; Tony and wife Brittany, Angela, Trevor, and Tyler Sansone, Jeremy and Berman Berthelot; Also survived by siblings Rosemary Coye, Joyce Hawkins and husband Ralph, Daniel Sansone and wife Dianne; Anthony was very fond of his numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Antoinette "Lena" Bondi Sansone.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Berman Berthelot, Tony, Trevor and Tyler Sansone, and Ralph Hawkins Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Floyd Coye.

Special thanks to the numerous Doctors and Nurses at Lane Regional Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospice-Carpenter House.

The family request that visitation be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker. Visitation will resume on Monday, July 25, 2016, 11:00am at Baker Funeral Home until religious services at 12:00 officiated by Deacon Shelly Joseph and Reverend Mike Ferguson. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Baker.
