Annie Ruth Blackwell Wilson Fryer, 91, went to be with her savior, family and friends on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Brookhaven, MS on December 14, 1923, but lived in the Baton Rouge, LA area, until she moved to Independence, LA in January of 2014. She was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church (Hammond, LA).
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Diane Wilson Ray (husband Rodney); grandson, Rev. Randy D. Ray (wife Lori); granddaughter, Renae Ray Briggs (husband Scott); granddaughter, Glenda Scallan Collins (husband Eddie); great- grandsons, Zachary Ray, Joshua Ray, and Wesley Collins; great-granddaughters, Stacie Ray and Amanda Karg; great great-granddaughters, Nellie and Emmi Lu Reid; sister, Francis B. Adams (husband Oscar); and brother, Nalty (Shorty) Blackwell.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Elery C. Wilson; second husband, Carl V. Fryer; daughter, Judy Elaine Wilson Scallan; great- granddaughter, Crystal Diane Briggs; parents, John A. and Nora E. Blackwell; 4 brothers, James C. Blackwell, Grady R. Blackwell, John D. Blackwell, and Felix E. Blackwell; 4 sisters, Ivy Lucille Blackwell Delaughter Watson, Wessie Irene Blackwell Jordan, Alma Christine Blackwell Walls, and Wille Vee (Billie) Blackwell George.
Family request visiting hours to be observed on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 9am to 11am at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd, Baker, LA 70714. A funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11am, conducted by her grandson Rev Randy D. Ray.
Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
