Lynne Martin Branton, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, in Zachary, Louisiana, at the age of 88. Born on September 23, 1936, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She lived a rich and fulfilling life marked by dedication to her family, her profession, and her passions.

Lynne was raised on the property of the Shell Refinery in Norco, where her father, Ernest Henry Martin, served as a supervisor. She married Bryant Wayland Conway, with whom she established a family home in Baker, Louisiana. Later, she married William David Branton, sharing a life filled with love and companionship.

A highly educated woman, Lynne attended Norco and Destrehan Elementary schools before graduating from Destrehan High School. She pursued higher education at Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and Louisiana State University, earning both her bachelor's and master's degrees in education. During her time in college, she was an active member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. Lynne dedicated over 35 years to teaching, retiring in 1997 as an elementary school teacher, leaving a lasting impact on countless students.

Her warm spirit and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

An avid painter, Lynne found joy in creating art, a hobby that reflected her creative soul. She also enjoyed square dancing, sewing, visiting plantation homes, thrift shopping, and watching classic movies. Beyond her personal interests, Lynne gave back to her community as a volunteer at the St. Vincent De Paul kitchen, embodying her compassionate nature.

Lynne is survived by her children, Catherine Conway Turner and her husband Ronnie of Austin, Texas, Bryant Wayland Conway II and his wife Michelle of League City, Texas, and Martin Carrol Conway and his wife Lynn of Fairfax, Virginia; her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Meghann Turner, Garrett Turner, Sarah Conway, Natalie Conway, Owen Conway, Blake Conway; step-granddaughter, Danielle Vice; as well as her great-grandchildren, Sage and Cole Turner; and step great-grandchildren, Addison and Chase Vice.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Henry Martin and Marion Cross Martin; and her sibling, Ernest H. Martin Jr.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayland Conway, Martin Conway, Ronnie Turner, Lewis Roeling, CJ Rushing, and Garrett Turner.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Sunday, April 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The graveside service and burial will follow on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.

Lynne Martin Branton's life was a testament to love, learning, and service. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
