Anita Faye Devall Cockerham, passed from this world on November 12, 2018 at her home surrounded by the family she loved. She was born June 8, 1931 in Baton Rouge to Glancy and Sarah (Wildblood) Devall and graduated from Istrouma High School in 1948. She was married to Don Cockerham for 66 years and raised a family of four on Buffwood Drive in Baker.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Glancy and Sarah (Wildblood) Devall; her sisters, Nell Devall McCallum and Gerald Dean Devall; brothers, Glancy A. Devall Jr and Jerry Glenn Devall; husband, Joseph Donald Cockerham Sr.; and grandson, Donald Cole LeBlanc.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Sarah (Cockerham) and Sid Ruiz, Karen (Cockerham) and Markham Palombo, Joe and Katrina (Martel) Cockerham and Laura (Cockerham) and Ward LeBlanc; 11 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.
Our family would like to thank Bridgeway Hospice and her caregivers for their care and compassion. A special thanks to Linda McNamar, her personal caregiver for over 4 years.
Arrangements are at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA 70714, (225)775-1991. The visitation will begin Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will continue Friday, November 16th, 2018, 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at Noon. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
