Alton Johnson, Sr.

Alton Joseph Johnson, Sr., 84 years old, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother was called to his eternal resting place on January 11, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on May 30, 1934, born to Joseph and Lovie Johnson in St. Landry Parish, LA.

Alton is survived by four daughters, Darlene Stubbs of Denham Springs, Betty Jenkins of Avondale, Beverly Johnson of Baker and Brenda Johnson of St. Francisville; son, Alton Johnson, Jr. of Clinton; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alton is preceded in death by his wife, Brigitte Johnson; parents, Joseph and Lovie Johnson; and brother, Clevon J. Johnson.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home, Monday, January 14, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Jay Avance. The graveside service and burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
