Alton Browning

A native and resident of Central, he passed away Friday Nov. 6, 2010 at the age of 88. He was a charter member of Millwright Local 720. Anyone that knew him knows his passion in life was playing and singing country music. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, Monday November 8, from 5:00 9:00 and again on Tuesday November 9, at Galilee Baptist Church 11050 Greenwell SpringsPort Hudson Rd., hwy 64 Zachary, La. from 10:00 until religious services at 11:00. Burial to follow in the Galilee Cemetery. He is survived by a Son, Justin Wayne Browning and Daughterinlaw Janice Babin Browning, one Brother, Duke Browning of Liberty, Ms. Five Grandchildren, Kirk Browning and Wife C.J., Jodie Johnson and Husband Girvus, Jennifer Browning, Jessica Watts and Husband Jack and Julie Townsend and Husband Jeff. Six Greatgrandchildren, Major and Ben Johnson, Cole, Luke and Zach Browning and J.B. Watts. He was preceded in death by his loving Wife, Ruth Black Browning, Sisters Nita Powers and Hazel Valentine and Brothers Sydney and Eli Browning. Pallbearers will be Kirk Browning, Girvus Johnson, Jack Watts, Jeff Townsend, Rusty Browning and Scooter Davis. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church of Zachary.
