God saw you getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered come to me. With tearful eyes we watch you, as we saw you pass away. Although we loved you deeply, we could not make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only take the Best. She passed away November 17, 2010 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. She was 83. A longtime resident of Baker and native of Scicily Island, La. She was a retired bus driver from the East Baton Rouge Parish School system with 21 years of service. Alice or Na Na was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Always practical, resourceful and enthusiastic, she impressed all who knew with her determination and loyalty. She was a caretaker to so many of her family and friends. She was a resilient woman, always thinking of others. Visiting will be at Baker Funeral Home on Friday Nov. 19th from 5:00 9:00 and again on Saturday Nov. 20 from 10:00 until religious services at 11:00 conducted by Rev. Huey Moak. Burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. She is survived by three daughters, Dianne and husband Bubba Kimbrell, Cathy and husband Wayne Rushing and Pam Murray. A brother, Carroll Son and wife Patricia Boles. 11 Grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Jack Paine, her parents, James and Edna Boles, sisters Hallie, Audrey and Lynn Badeaux. Brothers, Archie, Oscar, Huffman and Huey Boles. Pallbearers will be Brad Wells, Brian McGrew, Todd McGrew, Clint Murray, Michael Kimbrell and Kevin Kimbrell. A special thanks to the staff at Lane Nursing Home in Zachary, especially Bobbie, Lisa, Missie, Pam and Leslie. She will be greatly missed by all and will live forward in our hearts.
