William Bridges

A resident of Zachary, born in McComb, MS, and raised in Kentwood, LA, he passed away Monday, December 06, 2010 at 3am at St. Clare Manor. He was 83, a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a retired operator with Allied Signal with 35 years of service. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 2pm, conducted by Rev. Basil Wicker. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by one daughter, Barbara Bridges of Zachary one sister, Emily Bridges of Pine Ridge, LA one brother and sisterinlaw, Edward Carol Bridges of Pine Ridge, LA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Nelson Bridges granddaughter, Denise Nicole sister, Virgie Bridges infant brother, Frank Bridges and parents, Nina Young William Otis Bridges. Billy enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Slaughter. Special thanks to the many caring and compassionate staff members at Lake Senior Care, Oakwood Village Assisted Living, St. Clare Manor, and Hospice of Baton Rouge for seeing him through his ten year journey with Alzheimers.
