Jean Green Byers, 77 years old, beloved Mother and Grandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 15, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on August 23, 1943, born to Louise King Green and Kenneth Anderson Green, in Norfolk, VA.
She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and a resident of Baker, LA for over 50 years. She served the City of Baker for 44 years in her leading role as Museum Director, Councilwoman and volunteer. The City of Baker named her Phenomenal Woman of the Year in 2016. In addition, she also served as Zachary’s City Council Clerk for 11 years and as Museum Curator for 9 years. She was a graduate of Louisiana State University, a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, Museum Commission, Baker Little Theater and over 50 years as a member of Pilot Club International. As evidenced by her many roles of service, she dedicated her life to her community and immersed herself in the breadth of culture this world offers.
