Bessie Tot Brashear Brown
A resident and native of Baker, she passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her daughters home in Bellefontaine, MS, at the age of 96. Visiting at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, on Friday, October 29, 2010 from noon until Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm, celebrated by the Rev. Frank Bass. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Survived by three daughters and two sonsinlaw, Norma J.P. Accardo of Baton Rouge, Diane Crutchfield of Bellefontaine, MS, and Arlene James D. Hodges of Monroe, GA five sons and four daughtersinlaw, Julius Yvonne Brown of Baker, Ronald Leo Eunice Brown of Wilson, Leslie Wayne Buddy Judy Brown of Norwood, Barry Brown of Baker, and Russell Janet Brown of Clinton two sisters, Maud Shows of Darrow, and Vivian Whittington of Sulphur one brother, Raymond Brashear of Sulphur 20 grandchildren, and 49 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie H. Brown seven brothers and sisters, including twin brother, Jesse Brashear grandson, Jamie Hodges granddaughter, Shelly Brown and soninlaw, Thomas Crutchfield. Pallbearers will be her five sons, and grandson, Phil Accardo. She was a lifelong member and the oldest living member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and growing roses. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Isidore Building Fund, or charity of choice.
